DDubphotos, with Dave, Denise, and David were recruited to photograph the River City Rumble, a Taekwondo Tournament put on by Traditional ATA , the local Boise ATA TKD school, operated by Mr. Roy Ivey, and Mr. Nate Brain. Four of our grandkids attend the school, Caden, working on his third degree as well as teaching, and Cooper, Connor and Casey soon to test for the first degree. Our neighbor Jackson, son of the Gammons also attends. But I digress... We had two days of shooting with close to 350 competitors from around the Northwest, and a huge number of Blackbelt instructors and judges from numerous schools around the state. We were so impressed with the camaraderie and cordiality amongst the Tourney staff from the different schools. We were so impressed with the judging and the intent to grow and form the young ones minds and skill levels in a positive direction. Kudos to the leaders of these schools and their staffs for the wonderful job they did in putting this on. So impressive. Also the volunteers that put in their time and effort in the planning and execution of the weekend were just super awesome and their preparation showed through.
We walked the floors of the gym, shooting as many rings as we could, trying to get some shots of all the competitors. We were not able to get everyone as we physically could not get to every ring during all the competitions, but we did try. We took so many photographs and there is no way we can display all of them. We hope that you find yourself or your loved ones in one or two photos.
The galleries are day one and day two.
The first day was Blackbelts over 15 years of age competition. The second day was all other competition, ranging from small Tiger group children to adults, of all belt types. Also Blackbelts under the age of 15 were the second day. Competition ranged from Forms, Weapons, XMA, Combat sparring, Traditional sparring. With protective gear worn in sparring it is often difficult to tell who is in the ring against whom.
The students all worked so hard to do their best, and as far as we are concerned all are winners.
