Lyle Pearson 200, June 3, 2017 p/b George's Cycles
This years' LP 200, again put on and aptly we might add, by George's Cycles/Mike Cooley, was a great Saturday for bikers, and for Boise and Idaho as well. George's did a fantastic job organizing the event and it went off very well. MIke does a great job. Jeremy Ward and Kai Applequist of Team Mercedes Benz/ p/b Thrivent Financial, decided to ride the course as a two member team. Rather than the typical four team relay, they rode the entire course, all 10 segments, together. The weather was warm, even hot, and on the last half of the course, the wind was beating and howling. The two might have struggled in a couple spots, but you could not tell it from watching them. Always smiling and pushing forward, they let that course have a run for its money. They exhibited just absolute teamwork, poetry in motion most of the time. Denise would spot them coming, with her trusty binocs, but i could usually tell them in the distance due to the professional stance they have and the uniformity. (just saying). Team Mercedes finished 6th overall on time, and 9th, with handicap. Denise and my jaws just dropped watching them and when checking the times.
Since we were just chasing and handling the duo, we had a little time while driving ahead to stage, so we were able to get photos of a number of teams and participants. I went ahead and posted most of the ones we took, trying not to duplicate too much. I hope we didnt startle any of the racers coming up from behind, as most of the photos were taken from the rig. If you know any of the other riders in the photos, let them know where to find their photos.
I also want to mention, that sportsmanship, and friendship, and camaraderie were highly exhibited throughout the day. I cant tell you how many times another team would chat the boys up, congratulating them and cheering them on.
Very nice to see a community in action like that.
Enjoy the photos, remember download for free.
