2019 Lyle Pearson 200, June 1, 2019- Jeremy Ward and Kai Applequist for Team Mercedes
Jeremy and Kai rode the 200 from Boise to Sun Valley as a two person team, with each riding the entire length of the relay race. Most teams had four to six riders. Weather started out nice and finished kind of nice, but after Stanley through Galena, the wind and the rain, hail, lightening played havoc.
There were 37 teams this year, disappointingly less than usual for the race. 17 teams did not finish. Team Mercedes finished 2nd overall with a time of 8:25:21. Fantastic finish for the two men who delivered perseverance by the bucket today. Congrats to the winning team.
Thanks to George's Cycles for the sponsoring and running of the race.
Also a tip of the hat to Gabe Keck and to Hugo Fregoso, both Team Mercedes members who were riding on separate teams today
Our gallery is light in photos as we spent the majority of our time as support car for the team. It is more demanding than one might think, making sure they have all the necessary nutrients and set ups to handle the course. However this is all about them, and thus we hope the pictures convey a sense of what they endured today. There are some random shots of others but not many.
Take care,
Dave and Nec
