Strade Vino Day Two, Pro1/2 & Men's 3/4/5 and Masters April 8, 2023
Strade Vino second race on April 8, 2023. The men's Pro 1/2 as well as Men's 3/4/5 and all Masters are included in this gallery. The gravel course was short, only 6 plus miles. the Mens B had 4 laps and the Pro1/2 had 6. They left within 5 min of each other and the B race spread our very quickly. For this reason, we shot both races and they are intertwined here. We did try to get as many racers as possible but very sorry if we missed anyone.
Team George's had three riders, Jeremy Ward, John Hughes and John Collier as the rest of the team was headed to California for two big road race opportunities. St. Alphonsus Cycling had what appeared to be a full team of riders. As the race sponsor, they did a great job.
The course was slightly wet after all the rain during the week, but not bad enough to tear bikes to shreds. Potholes and ruts abound. The course was ok though and we got around to get pics of the riders. The end was scorched with a two man crash, putting one in the hospital. Our hearts are with both. The young ones took the race at the end. Will leave it to the racers to tell their day's tale. Was good to be out again shooting races. Enjoy the photos and download at no charge as always. If you use, please credit. Very sorry we could not stay for the afternoon races but hope Brian got those for you.
Thank you to 3 Horse Ranch for again hosting the race and saving us a space to park at the end. Very gracious hosts and volunteers.
