Team Mercedes Benz p/b George's Cycles, Pedal Through the Corners Criterium, July 9, 2016
The Pedal Through the Corners Criterium, first year Crit, established and put on by Brian Tromburg, was held at Scentsy Commons off Eagle Rd, in Meridian Idaho. The photos in this gallery are from the Men's Pro 1/2/3. There seemed to be quite a turn out for the first time Crit and it seems to have been well received by the cycling community. Team Mercedes showed in force and took this race in force also. The atmosphere was great, in spite of sparse crowds for the first year. Jeremy raced his second crit since coming back from the horrific accident almost a year ago to the day. I don't know what the teams strategy was, as that is close held within the team. But whatever it was, sure seemed to work. The team wore down the field over the 60 minutes. One member took the lead, then another. Near the end, Kai broke out for several laps solo, way in front of the pelaton. Then Jer bridged up to him, and the two cruised the last few laps to victory. Jeremy and Kai came across together, with Jer taking 1 and Kai 2. Tim Root took 3, and Hugo Fregoso came over 4th. The entire team held up the standards as members and performed so well. Denise and I are so happy for them all and for Jeremy. What an evening for he and his family! Team members racing tonight included Kai Applequist, Jeremy Ward, Hugo Fregoso, Gabe Moss, Todd Meier, , and Gabe Keck.
