Idaho State Championship Criterium in Ketchum Idaho, July 1, 2017. Masters and Pro1/2
Team Mercedes Benz p/b Thrivent Financial raced two races in Ketchum. Gabe Keck, Tad Hamilton, Robb Floth raced in the Masters with Gabe taking 1st place and the championship.
In the Pro 1/2 race Jeremy, Kai, Todd, Brandon, Robb, Gabe and Rob, all entered and raced. Oh the race started out and took over the town for an hour. Somehow Jeremy got in a break with two UpCycle racers, and the three took off, ultimately lapping the field before setting in and riding with the peloton to the finish. I don’t know what strategy they all used, but at the end lap, it was a stretch sprint and Jeremy fell short by a tire or so to UpCycle rider Allan Schroeder. For Jeremy, I see it as a victory as less than two years ago, with the horrific crash that he endured and the grueling recovery and retraining, he was able to come back, in a crit no less, and do what he did. The entire family and I know the team, is so proud of him. We are so proud of the entire team and the way they train and prep, to race, and then go out and do it. No one can take that away from these men.
David and Duren also traveled up to Ketchum to watch the race. David’s photos are in here also, with the names starting DS2.
Enjoy them all.
